Advance Introduces New Additions to ROVR™ Family of DALI-Compliant Digital Addressable Ballasts

Advance has announced that it has expanded its innovative family of ROVR™ digital addressable controllable fluorescent lamp ballasts to include a new 1-lamp model for T5 fluorescent applications as well as 1 and 2-lamp models to support T8 fluorescent applications in a variety of professional settings.

Watt Stopper/Legrand introduces the new fixture-mounted FD-301 dimming photosensor. Lighting fixture manufacturers can easily integrate the FD-301 during production so fixtures arrive at the jobsite with the control pre-wired, adding value and saving contractors’ time. Commissioning, too, is fast and simple. Once operational, the photosensor provides precise and reliable energy-saving control, dimming 0-10 VDC ballasts in response to available daylight. Integrating the device into the fixture also improves aesthetics, reducing the number of items on the ceiling.

Square D® Powerlink® Lighting Control Panelboards With BACnet Protocol Make Integration with Building Automation Systems Easy

A Square D® Powerlink® whole-building lighting control system can now be seamlessly integrated into a commercial building automation system with the incorporation of the Building Automation and Control network (BACnet®) communication protocol into Powerlink intelligent lighting control panelboards. Incorporation of BACnet into Square D Powerlink panelboards significantly reduces the cost and challenges normally associated with incorporating a lighting control system into a comprehensive building automation platform. At the same time, it makes it easier for a building owner or facility manager to access information about all of a building’s systems, including lighting, in order to maximize both energy and cost savings.

NEMA Publishes Test Procedure for Compatibility of Hearing Aids and Ultrasonic Lighting Control Devices

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) has published LC 1-2007 Test Procedure for Compatibility of Hearing Aids and Ultrasonic Lighting Control Devices. This standard provides a basis to evaluate the possible interactions between ultrasonic lighting control devices and hearing aids utilizing a set of test procedures. This evaluation can be used as the basis for specifying performance criteria for both hearing aids and occupancy sensors to eliminate interference.
