The Lighting Controls Association (LCA), a council of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA), has re-released EE110: Commissioning and Lighting Controls, a course in its popular Education Express program.

Commissioning is a proven quality assurance process to ensure building systems are designed, installed, and operate in accordance with owner requirements, manufacturers’ instructions, and the design intent. Authored by Craig DiLouie, CLCP, LC, this course provides an overview of The Commissioning Process, benefits of commissioning, and applicable commercial building energy code requirements. It then provides guidance for commissioning, including functional testing of installed equipment.

This course is registered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) for Learning Units (LU)/Health, Safety, Welfare (HSW) credits; National Lighting Contractors of America (NLCAA) points as preparation for that organization’s path to California Acceptance Test Technician certification; and the National Council on Quality in the Lighting Professions (NCQLP) for Lighting Education Units (LEUs). It is also required reading to prepare for NALMCO’s Certified Lighting Controls Professional (CLCP) certification exam.

Founded in 2006, Education Express serves more than 32,000 students, who have benefited from more than 270,000 completions of learning modules and 190,000 comprehension tests taken online, enabling them to earn education credit.
