Leviton Manufacturing Company‘s LevNet RF™ wireless self-powered lighting energy management devices and innovative Light Logger™ were chosen by judges at Design Journal magazine as recipients of its 2010 ADEX (Award for Design Excellence) Awards. The products were selected from a dense field of thousands of entries in the most competitive competition ever, with this year’s ADEX submissions rising 22% over last year’s.
The revolutionary line of self-powered, environmentally-friendly LevNet RF devices took center stage, pulling in a Platinum level award and the Light Logger, a close second, drawing in a Gold-Level honor. The revolutionary line of self-powered, eco-friendly lighting control devices integrates Leviton’s signature performance and design features with best-in-class technology from EnOcean, the world leader in wireless control technology. Without wires to run, LevNet RF devices reduce labor and material costs, and require only minutes to configure. Once installed, LevNet devices can be used in virtually any commercial retrofit environment to control energy consumption and reduce a facility’s carbon footprint.
Leviton’s innovative Light Logger works with Leviton’s “Dollars and Sensors” software to deliver energy-savings calculations and payback analysis. The Light Logger monitors energy use in an area and logs changes in the status of lighting usage based on occupancy in that space. The data adex2enables users to forecast the energy- and cost-savings of using occupancy sensors and validate savings once the sensors are installed.
“We are pleased that Design Journal judges have selected our innovative products as this year’s platinum and gold level winners,” said Richard Westfall, Vice President and General Manager for Leviton’s Lighting Management Systems. “This is further validation of Leviton’s commitment to provide the market with innovative energy conservation solutions. These products make it simple and cost effective to reduce lighting energy use and forecast the financial savings of installing eco-friendly lighting solutions.”
