The first round of European certification tests has been successfully concluded and appropriate certificates were awarded along with the right to display the BTL mark. The formal award ceremony took place at the BIG-EU booth at the Light+Building 2008 Trade Fair in Frankfurt, Germany. Volker Röhl, President of the BACnet Interest Group Europe (BIG-EU) and Frank Bitter of WSPCert, the certification agency, made the presentations.
The BIG-EU and the WSPCert certification body presented 14 manufacturers with the industry’s first BACnet product Certifications, together with BTL listings, in the presence of BACnet’s pioneer, Mike Newman, a founding member of the BACnet Standard Committee SSPC 135.
Delta Controls received the highly sought-after BACnet certification from the WSPCert certification body, in addition to the BTL listing from the WSPLab test laboratory for Revision level 6 of the BACnet standard at the Building Controller level for its products. This certified that the respective manufacturers’ products conform to the worldwide standard ISO 16484-5 (BACnet).
In Europe, the certificates are taken as proof that the BACnet conformance testing was conducted to the highest standards and is often required by specifiers and building owners. The certificates are considered evidence that the BACnet implementation tests were conducted by an independent and accredited testing laboratory.
It further demonstrates Delta’s BACnet leadership position in the market, with BACnet implemented across the entire product line to the furthest degree in the industry, providing system integrators and end customers with the widest range of BACnet functionality and assuring them of the proven system integration solutions for their projects and facilities respectively.
