04/13/2008 by Lighting Controls Association Leave a Comment

Universal Lighting Technologies is among the charter members of the new NEMA Premium Ballast Program, which recognizes excellence in energy-saving technology. The program is designed to identify the industry’s most efficient T8 ballasts, including the entire ULTim8® family of electronic ballasts from Universal Lighting Technologies.

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association established the NEMA Premium Ballast Program in accordance with standards established by the Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE). Eligible products include instant start and programmed rapid start ballasts for four-foot T8 lamps. Products which qualify will have the NEMA Premium designation displayed.

“Universal Lighting Technologies is an innovation leader in the lighting industry, and we pride ourselves on developing the most energy-efficient ballasts on the market today,” said Peter Revesz, director of product management. “The NEMA Premium Ballast Program is an excellent resource for lighting professionals to quickly and confidently identify which ballasts provide superior energy efficiency. We’re exited to be a part of it.”

NEMA is a recognized leader in standardization of electrical equipment, enabling consumers to select from a range of safe, effective, and compatible electrical products. The organization has also made numerous contributions to the electrical industry by shaping public policy development and operating as a central confidential agency for gathering, compiling, and analyzing market statistics and economics data.
