Lightolier® Controls is proud to announce ControlsXpress™, the industry’s most advanced and complete architectural and residential lighting controls design software. As a free download, ControlsXpress™ allows you to produce a professional set of documents that are ready to export directly into a specification for any architectural or residential application. Whether you are designing an office building, restaurant, performing arts center, a new home, or a single room, ControlsXpress™ puts the design tools in your hands to specify Lightolier® Controls and Entertainment Technology product lines.

“We are very excited to be releasing ControlsXpress™,” stated Gary Meshberg, Lightolier® Controls Business Development Manager. “This new lighting controls design tool will allow electrical engineers, electrical contractors, and architects to simply and easily design a complete lighting controls system regardless of the complexity or application. Additionally our sales force is now equipped to respond very quickly to the needs of our clients. We have taken great steps to ensure that this new software leads its user through the design process while still offering the unique flexibility to design the exact system they have in mind.”

ControlsXpress™ is based on a seven step design process with each step having its own title and page. The initial Project page allows you to enter all the pertinent information regarding the naming and location of your project. Concurrently, this information will automatically populate your project title block template. Next, the Rooms page allows the user to easily define the number of rooms or spaces within your project. Thirdly, the Lighting Loads page quickly establishes the number of channels and circuits contained within each room or space. Fourth, the Lighting Controls page correctly identifies the type of lighting controls desired for each room or space. Fifth, the Optimization page, provide options for partitioning, shared electrical, and dimming equipment. Following this, the Accessories page allows for the convenient manual selection of Lightolier® Controls and Entertainment Technology products. And finally, the Drawings and Specification page allows you to view, email, export, and print all or part of your lighting controls project including the electrical schedule, one-line diagrams, and written specifications.

Meshberg continued, “ControlsXpress™ is very intuitive to use. The user learning curve is very short. Literally within minutes the user can have a completed lighting controls design with a correctly populated Bill of Materials. You do not have to be a lighting controls expert or be familiar with our products to enjoy ControlsXpress™.”
