To qualify for the Tech Top 40 program, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 2004 and $3,000,000 in 2007, be headquartered in Connecticut and own proprietary technology or proprietary intellectual property that contributes to a significant portion of the company’s operating revenues, or devote a significant proportion of revenues to the research and development of technology.
Sensor Switch achieved an increase in revenue of 72.57% from 2004 to 2007, which resulted in their inclusion in the Energy/Environmental Technology category of this year’s Tech Top 40. Brian Platner, President & CEO of Sensor Switch, credits a culture of innovation and imaginative engineering with the company’s outstanding revenue growth from 2004-2007. Platner said, “We are always looking for ways to increase energy efficiency, and we do so by designing pioneering lighting controls. Our newest control system, nLight, is the first lighting system to cost-effectively integrate time-based, occupancy-based, daylight-based, and manual control methods. It delivers increased energy savings with lower equipment and installation costs. This system is just another example of our creative engineers at work.”
