These SMART-Plugs save a lot of time in configuring lighting systems. Plugging them into the control gear transfers predefined settings to the control gear without the need for any software. The new Tridonic generation of dimmable PCA ballasts are equipped with a integrated SMART interface for the range of preprogrammed plugs. The combination of the SMART interface and the associated SMART plug makes it very easy to provide different configurations. Special controllers are not required.
SMART Plug Ma
This plug stands for the “Maintenance” function. Configuration settings for the ballast are stored on this plug. This plug stores all the parameters that are set on the ballast. The device parameters are constantly and automatically matched between the ballast and the SMART-Plug during operation. If, for example, a ballast needs to be replaced the stored configuration settings can be transferred to the new ballast by inserting the SMART plug. There is then no need to waste time reconfiguring.
SMART Plug cF
SMART Plug cF provides a simple means of configuring the corridorFUNCTION in combination with an external motion sensor. SMART Plug cF 1min offers a 1 minute dwell time at a dimming level of 10% and then the luminaires are switched off. Use SMART Plug cF 30min if you want the dwell time to be 30 minutes. If the dimming level is to remain at 10% you should use the “Never-off plug”. If one of the SMART plugs is connected to the SMART interface of the ballast the relevant corridorFUNCTION profile is activated in the ballast.
SMART-Plug Gr is used to assign the ballast to a particular DALI group. There are four types of plug available: A, B, C and D. A ballast is assigned to a DALI group by inserting the SMART-Plug. This is a simple way of achieving DALI grouping of luminaires without the need for software.
The possible combinations of plug and Tridonic PCA ballasts are as follows: The EXCEL version supports all three functions, namely corridorFUNCTION, Grouping and Maintenance. The BASIC and ECO versions only support the corridorFUNCTION.
SMART sensors for daylight control or presence detection can also be operated via the interface. They will operate even in large halls and other rooms with ceiling heights of up to 10 meters.
