Eco-Minder Dimmer from Lutron Electronics Captures Green Product Award

Lutron Electronics has announced that its Eco-minder dimmer collection is a recipient of a Building Products magazine Green Products Award.

Published quarterly by Hanley Wood, LLC, Building Products is the premier information source for builders and remodelers searching for what’s new in building materials and products. 50,000 high-volume builders and remodelers count on Building Products for up-to-date information on the newest and most innovative products in the industry.

Lutron’s innovative, new, eco-minder dimmer features an LED display that provides the user with instant feedback when they are saving at least 15% energy, allowing them to see as they save. The eco-minder reminds users to dim their lights to reduce energy consumption, as well as allows them to show others how to conserve energy. The collection includes two styles, Maestro® and Meadowlark™, and is priced from $24.80.

According to Building Products magazine officials, the 16 winners were judged by a panel of builders, remodelers and architects on their green and sustainable attributes, including, but not limited to, energy efficiency, resource efficiency and/or health and comfort. Each product also was evaluated on its innovation and overall value to residential construction professionals employing green building practices.

The Green Product Awards were open to all categories of residential building products, materials and technologies introduced between January 2008 and April 2009. “The winners of the annual Green Product Awards represent great options that pros can implement as part of a sustainably built home,” said Jean Dimeo, editorial director for Building Products and ebuild.com. “These products and materials offer innovative features, eye-catching aesthetics, ease of installation, or other valuable benefits to the contractor or the consumer.”
