Watt Stopper/Legrand has developed a new relay panel to provide fail-safe emergency lighting in a variety of commercial settings. The Emergency Relay Panel option is UL924 listed for use on emergency circuits. It is available as an option with Watt Stopper’s 24 or 48 relay size Lighting Integrator (LI) low voltage lighting control panels.
Panasonic Electric Works of America and PLC-Multipoint, Inc. have announced a contractual relationship whereby PLC-Multipoint will act as a United States distributor of Panasonic brand of lighting control equipment based on the unique Full – 2Way communication protocol. The Pascal Automation Controller is easily installed by an electrical contractor, using standard Cat-5 cable. Third-party products, such as a movie projector, screen, and security or HVAC systems, are connected to the Pascal Automation Controller via its two RS232 ports.

For years, Lander University relied on a programmable relay-based system installed in the mid 1980s to provide energy-saving scheduled control of lighting and equipment for its most vital buildings. While the system, which controlled the Learning Center, Cultural Center, Student Center and Athletic Complex, had initially served its purpose, the controls had become antiquated and unreliable. After experiencing numerous disruptions to classes and events, engineers at the state university in Greenwood, S.C., set out to research replacement options.
