LEDs Magazine, creators of the annual Sapphire Awards, have announced four projects receiving the 2021 Design Excellence in Networked Lighting Control Award.
The LEDs Magazine Sapphire Awards were established in 2014 to recognize product excellence. New to this year’s program is a Design Excellence Award in Networked Lighting Control developed with sponsorship from the Lighting Controls Association.
With Sapphire and LCA representatives, all project submissions were evaluated for innovative use of lighting controls, with consideration to the complexity of integration, ease of commissioning and installation, implications for energy usage, and value-added features such as automation, monitoring, and data analysis. In the award’s first year, four projects were recognized for various facets of excellence related to application of networked lighting controls:
Design Excellence in Networked Lighting Control Award for LLLC:
Minnesota Class A Office Building — Energy Management Collaborative
Design Excellence in Networked Lighting Control Award for Automation:
PDI Fuse Building — Power Design Engineering
Design Excellence in Networked Lighting Control for Energy Management:
Ontario Association of Architects — Gottesman Associates and WSP Toronto
Design Excellence in Networked Lighting Control for Integration:
Glover Cary Bridge — AECOM
These projects will be presented individually on the LCA website in coming months–stay tuned. Congratulations to this year’s award recipients!
