BriteSwitch: Many Utility Rebate Programs Are Offering Bonuses

06/23/2020 by Lighting Controls Association 1 Comment

Rebate fulfillment firm BriteSwitch recently stated that about 20% of commercial lighting rebate programs are offering additional or bonus rebate opportunities.

Why? A majority of programs have performance targets, and when they have difficulties meeting them–such as during the current slowdown due to the pandemic–they implement bonus programs. These programs typically offer increased incentives for the existing rebate measures for a set period of time. The value of the bonus will vary depending on the utility. Sometimes, it’s an extra 10% or 20%; other times, it can more than double the original rebate.
