Douglas Lighting Controls®, a member of the Panasonic family of companies, recently introduced the new Intelligent Fixture Sensor (IFS) and Intelligent Fixture Controller (IFC) to its high-performance lighting products portfolio.
Specially designed for Luminaire Level Lighting Controls (LLLC), the IFS units can be deployed as independent, fixture-mounted occupancy and daylight sensors. As an alternative, they can be networked with the Dialog® controllers and other devices in the Dialog ecosystem, including wall station switches, load controllers and low voltage ceiling mount sensors, to create a complete Bluetooth® wireless lighting control system.

By embedding Bluetooth wireless controls in a fixture, we combine those benefits with added functionality of IoT readiness, such as indoor positioning and asset tracking,” said Rob Mahaffey, General Manager of Douglas Lighting Controls. “With intelligent fixtures, Douglas is delivering an easy to implement standard which provides Specifiers, Contractors and Operators a backbone to do more than turn lights on/off and dim up and down.”
The IFS and IFC provide full wireless control capability to suitably equipped, host luminaires. These devices are intended to work with companion LED drivers having auxiliary power output, 0-10V dimming and Dim-to-Off capability. The IFS includes an occupancy sensor and a daylight sensor. Both products support single and dual-channel 0-10V dimming. Their compact mechanical design fits directly into industry standard ½” electrical knockouts.
