The OSRAM Tunable White (TW) System provides a digitally controllable lighting solution which helps simulate natural daylight. This digital solution offers the freedom to adjust light preferences and is based on DALI-2 design for Human Centric Lighting (HCL) applications including educational, commercial office and healthcare settings.
The Tunable White System includes:
- OPTOTRONIC®TW LED Driver
- Tunable White Wallstation
- PrevaLED®TW Light Engine
- Control Power Pack (optional)
The OSRAM TW Wallstation provides precise color temperature and brightness control when used in conjunction with the OPTOTRONIC Programmable TW LED Driver. The color temperature of the PrevaLED light engine can be adjusted within the range of 2700K to 6500K and between 1-100% light intensity. The wallstation comes with three, pre-programmed scene buttons that can be customized by the enduser to control the room’s ambiance. The PrevaLED TW Light Engine is recommended as part of this solution for optimal performance, however, the OPTOTRONIC TW LED Driver also can be paired with third-party tunable white light engines offering flexibility to OEMs.
Digital-based systems ensure consistent light quality regardless of the size of the space. Analog-based systems can have a variation in lighting quality from fixture to fixture due to signal inconsistency, whereas digital control ensures high quality, consistent light levels across luminaires. The Osram digital TW System leverages DALI-2 standardized commands for color tuning. It’s compatible with light management systems capable of communicating via DALI-2 for type 8 devices and can be used as a standalone system.
The installation of the OSRAM Tunable White System is straightforward. The OPTOTRONIC TW LED Driver and PrevaLED TW Light Engine is integrated into the luminaire during the manufacturing process. Contractors simply install the luminaires and OSRAM TW Wallstation into the application space and run a quick wiring test.
