Hubbell Control Solutions recently announced it has launched a new Bluetooth® Bridge with Real Time Clock (“NXBTC”) for wireless commissioning of NX Distributed Intelligence™ devices. The NXBTC replaces the former BTR Bluetooth® Bridge.
The introduction of the NXBTC addresses a market gap for competitively priced solutions that feature instantaneous wireless configuration and true scheduling with a real time clock. Schedules and hypothetical scenarios can be downloaded and run in stand-alone NXRC Room Controller applications without a network. The compact bridge connects to and is powered by an NX SmartPORT™, enhancing the security of the solution without adding the complexity of additional wiring or power.
Once added the NXBTC provides instant wireless configuration and time-based control to the end user. Scheduling options can be scaled from simple to advanced project requirements. Feedback from design build contractors helped shape the functionality of the NXBTC, with the biggest emphasis being placed on making it easy to configure. By saving on time spent commissioning the system, design build contractors can put more focus on tailoring the solution to meet the needs of the customer.
While it is easy to make long-term changes the NXBTC also provides password protection for user access to prevent unauthorized Bluetooth® connections. Communication with the NX system for setup and control requires installation of the NX iOS or Android App on the smart device, which are both available for free download from Apple® and Google Play™ stores.
