Leviton recently announced the expanded capabilities of the new Decora Smart™ with Wi-Fi Technology lighting controls. The recently introduced product family is now a partner of the Works with Google Assistant program, offering a smart, hubless lighting control solution as part of a robust home automation experience.
Existing and future Decora Smart with Wi-Fi Technology users can now utilize Google Home, a voice-enabled speaker powered by the Google Assistant, to easily control smart devices as well as interior and exterior lights around the home. (Electrical Contractors may purchase Decora Smart products from their Preferred Distributor and Authorized Leviton Retailers. Google Assistant devices sold separately.)
Users can control their Decora Smart with Wi-Fi Technology devices and activities by voice using Google Assistant products, including Google Home and Pixel, through the free My Leviton app and new My Leviton action. When using the My Leviton app and action, users must specify by name which device to activate. Users can then set up the friendly device name(s) in advance, like Wall Sconce or Chandelier, that will be displayed in the app and can be changed at any time. Examples of voice-controlled lighting commands with the Google Assistant include:
Ok Google, turn [My Leviton device name] On / Off
Ok Google, turn [Google room name] On / Off
Ok Google, turn [Everything] On / Off
Ok Google, set [My Leviton device name] to [1-100]%
Ok Google, dim [My Leviton device name] to [1-100]%
Ok Google, brighten [My Leviton device name] to [1-100]%
As the latest “hubless” home automation solution from Leviton, the Decora Smart with Wi-Fi Technology product line offers remote access, app-based scheduling and voice control options – with no bridge required.
In using the My Leviton app, users can create schedules and activities based on specific times or on-demand events that can run manually at their discretion. Advanced settings are also available to adjust fade rates, brightness levels, bulb types and more, to specifically personalize every aspect of a homeowner’s lighting.
