Hubbell Building Automation has announced the expansion of the HBA WASP™ Fluorescent High Bay sensor product line to include sensors designed specifically for low and cold temperature environments such as freezers and similar applications.
The HBA WASP product line provides significant energy savings in addition to those typically associated with T5, T5HO and T8 fluorescent fixtures. The new low temperature sensors can operate in environments down to -40° C and are available in 120/277/347VAC, 208/240VAC, 480VAC and low voltage versions. They easily mount directly to T5HO and T8 fixtures through an extended ½ -inch chase nipple and the specially designed PIR lens provides 1.4:1 coverage up to 30 feet and 1.1:1 coverage at 45 feet. Available with either single or dual outputs, these new low temperature sensors are the perfect solution for single or multi-ballast fixtures. The single output sensors feature a primary timer for ON/OFF control for maximum energy savings. The dual output sensors feature two timers for multiple light level control (i.e. step dimming).
The dual output sensors also include HBA’s exclusive Smart Cycling™ technology that maximizes lamp and ballast life by ensuring that all lamps receive the same number of switching cycles. To take advantage of the natural daylight, select models feature a built-in photosensor to override lights off when there is sufficient ambient daylight. Configuring the correct lighting level is made easy using the 15 preset values ranging from 50 – 3000 foot candles.
