Advance has announced that a variety of its electronic ballast offerings have become charter products within the voluntary new NEMA Premium® Ballast Program.
Consistent with Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) specifications and tested in accordance with ANSI standards, products eligible to participate in the new NEMA Premium® Ballast Program include either instant-start or programmed rapid start electronic ballasts or electronic dimming ballasts designed for use with four-foot 32-watt T8 fluorescent lamps. Qualifying products will bear a special designation which will help lighting professionals and end users recognize the market’s highest-performing ballast products available and optimally support their green, energy-efficient, or sustainable lighting objectives.
Currently, a wide variety of Advance products are participating in the NEMA Premium® Ballast Program—from Advance’s broad range of Optanium® high-efficiency ballasts to its Mark 7® 0-10V and Mark 10® Powerline dimming ballasts as well as its ROVR ballasts, which are fully compatible with the DALI protocol.
Says Advance Vice President of Fluorescent Product Management Tom Bosworth, “Advance is delighted to be a charter member of the new NEMA Premium® Ballast Program, which is designed to aid lighting professionals and end users in recognizing the highest-performing ballast products in the market and provide assurance that the selected products are doing the utmost to maximize energy savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and drive sustainability in both retrofit and new construction applications.”
Advance has a long tradition of delivering green and energy-efficient lighting solutions to the marketplace—from its ongoing introduction of breakthrough innovations such as high-efficiency, dimming, and DALI-compatible ballasts and systems to its continued industry leadership of sustainability initiatives.
Concludes Bosworth, “Advance fully supports the NEMA Premium® Ballast Program and is intent upon it becoming synonymous with an elite new standard of energy-efficient, environmentally-responsible, and sustainable products in the ballast industry.”
