Lutron Electronics Announces Launch of GRAFIK Eye® Designer 6.5 Software

04/19/2005 by Lighting Controls Association Leave a Comment

Lutron Electronics Co., Inc. has announced the launch of Designer 6.5, a software tool used by sales representatives, architects, engineers, lighting designers and other specifiers to aid in the computerized design of Lutron dimming and switching projects.

In addition to supporting Lutron’s GRAFIK 3000 and 4000 systems, including GP, LP and XP panels, Designer 6.5 now supports additional Lutron products, including the Sivoia QED™ family of shade and drapery controls, the SoftSwitch128™ switching system and the RadioTouch™ wireless visual environment control system.

The software’s improved System Manager now allows users to add independent systems to the same project file, resulting in unique one-line diagrams for each system. In addition, the software can now be used in 16 different languages, including the newly-added languages: Portuguese, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Traditional Chinese and Japanese.

“Designer 6.5 puts even more design power into the hands of the user, all while maintaining the easy-to-use interface that Designer has become famous for,” says Tom Myers, Lutron’s senior sales manager of corporate accounts.

“Users now have the ability to create multiple systems of different system types within one project file, a much-anticipated feature that enables them to create more accurate design drawings,” Myers added. “Plus, the improved System Design Wizard lets users specify a system quickly and easily with minimal input.”

As with previous versions, Designer 6.5 saves its users both time and money when designing a Lutron dimming or switching system.

Lutron plans to conduct training for architects, lighting designers, engineers and specifiers, both on location as well as online, throughout 2005.

GRAFIK Eye Designer 6.5 can be ordered free from your local Lutron representative. Once the software is installed, users are required to register with Lutron if they intend to use the tool for more than 30 days.
