New Maestro IR™ Remote Control Dimmer from Lutron Electronics Instantly Transforms the Look of Any Room

03/19/2005 by Lighting Controls Association Leave a Comment

New Maestro IR™ Remote Control Dimmer from Lutron ElectronicsUse Lutron’s Maestro IR to instantly transform a TV room into an authentic home theater experience. Simply adjust lights to the desired level, then press and hold the one-touch silver button on the remote control to save the setting. Later, press the silver button to recall that favorite light level.

The new dimmer is based on the company’s popular Maestro smart dimmer, which features LED light level indicators and raise/lower buttons.

“The Maestro IR dimmer is the finishing touch in a TV room,” said Ed Blair, product development manager at Lutron. “Once you find the right light level for watching movies, you’ll be able to instantly recall it and set the perfect mood for the evening.”

The infrared remote control, which also features a raise/lower button for fine-tuning light levels, can be used up to 30 feet away from the dimmer. For added convenience and flexibility, the infrared remote control can be replaced by most programmable universal remote controls.

Available in early 2005, the Maestro IR dimmer is simple to install. Screw terminals have replaced wire leads and wire connectors, reducing clutter in the back box and installation time. This new feature makes it possible to swap out an existing switch or dimmer with Maestro IR in about 15 minutes.

The Maestro IR dimmer is also ideal for kitchens, bedrooms, home offices and dens and has a retail price of $39.99.
